Welcome To Our Place on the Lake
The Pressey House Lakeside Bed and Breakfast in the Oakland, Maine area is open year-round, offering solitude for guests who are seeking a peaceful retreat and a convenient location for those who want to experience outdoor recreation in an outstanding environment that rests right at the North end of Messalonskee Lake. With 100 feet of prestine water frontage enjoy the views or partake in a kayak, canoe or on a paddleboard. The house was built in 1850 and was put on the National Register of Historical Places in 1977. There is a suite in the Bed and Breakfast located on the ground floor of the octogon, the Granite Suite, and the Ell suite attaches the octogon to the barn, which contains the other 2 suites, the Loft and the Terrace. All are spacious, relaxing, and comfortable. The delicious breakfasts will be the perfect start to your day's activities. The Pressey House is less than a 10 minute drive to Colby College and Thomas College and also offers wireless internet service for our guests.
Located In The Belgrade Lakes Region
The Pressey House is located in the Belgrade Lakes region on the north end of Messalonskee Lake in the small town of Oakland. Messalonskee Lake offers swimming, boating, water skiing and fishing in the summer and skating, cross-country skiing, snowmobiling and ice fishing in the winter. The fall foliage in this region of lakes presents one of the most spectacular shows of color in Maine. Your hosts Nicole and Ron Goodheart invite you to be their guests.
